Staycation

The view from our hotel. Arizona is beautiful!
This year instead of packing up the car & lugging 2 kids out to CA for a road trip/vacation we decided to make it easy on ourselves and just go to a resort in Tucson since we didn't really know how Reagan would travel (and who wants to listen to a screaming baby for 6 hours?). Was it any easier staying closer to home? Nope! We still had to load up just as much but it was a much shorter drive (which Reagan did fantastic on so now we know). Except for driving through to see our cousins in Vail, I have never been to Tucson so I thought it would be fun to see the town. So the question is, have I suddenly become a fan of Tucson after visiting it as a tourist? Sorry to say, no, but our resort was awesome and it was up in the hills out of town a bit (so it was cooler too) and we had a great time.
Loving it!
The best part of the trip? The WATERSLIDE!!! Addison isn't scared of anything and was going down headfirst on her back at times.
Ouch! This was our patio from our room.

The worst part of our trip? Trying to enjoy an evening out on our patio with Derek while the girls slept and being attacked by a field mouse and some of his big black beetle friends. Yes, there was screaming involved.

We also took some time to visit the Tucson Childrens Museum which was a hit with both girls. As we were packing up to leave, Addison got really sad and said she wanted to just live in the hotel forever. I can't blame her!
Reagan had never been in a hotel room and had a blast! Both girls thought the shower was fun.

Soon she will be doing the grocery shopping for me.

So much fun!
