We went back to Arkansas for a week to visit Derek's parents and to see our friends, Gus & Suzie, get married -- Derek was the best man. Though we had our concerns about traveling with two kids things couldn't have gone any better and I realize now that traveling with a baby is much easier than it was traveling with a 1 year old. The flights were a breeze because Addison watched movies while Reagan played with her toys and "talked" to me for the 3 hour flight. Addison hadn't seen her Poppi & Grammy since May '09 but she acted like she had just seen them last month. We webcam them (as she says "can we talk to Grammy & Poppi on the 'puter?") so that has obviously built up a bond between them. She is SO shy normally that I worried about her warming up to them but Grammy became her new best friend that first day. They made breakfast & baked a cake together, blew bubbles out on the deck, took Wolf on walks every morning, watered the plants and she loved going to her closet to find toys they had hidden in there. She also warmed up very quickly to her Uncle Chris and her Poppi. She would play "monsters" with Poppi (which means she hides and then runs & screams at him) and always had to know where he was every time he left the room. We left her & Reagan with them when we went to the Rehearsal Dinner for the wedding one night (this was one of the only times we have left Addison with anyone besides my parents and she did great!). They planned on having a nice quiet movie night but learned quickly that she NEVER sits for movies - she is too busy pretending she is the main character and acting out every scene in the movie to sit. It's hilarious.
We had such a good time out there and Addison also attended her first wedding (the word "shhhh" was used a lot during the ceremony). One of her friends was there and the two of them danced all night long. All in all it was a great trip, except for some fussiness & crying from Reagan for being off her schedule, and we were sad to leave. Addison keeps saying she is ready to go back tomorrow!.
