Party!

Our big girl is 3 years old! On her official birthday (Friday) she got in bed with us around 6 am and when we all finally woke up, we sang Happy Birthday to her. She got SO mad at us and told us that she was only to be sung to at her Birthday Party and when her Papa and Bes called later in the morning to sing to her also, she got VERY upset with them too and walked away from the phone. We started the day by opening a few gifts and then went to Dunkin Donuts where she ate almost 5 munchkins (for my child that never eats that was huge!). After nap, we webcammed Poppi and Grammy and she got to open their gifts which is so great (gotta love technology!) since they live too far to be here to join in on the fun. After that we went over to Uncle Bens house and then all of us went to Chipotle (yes it really was her choice and not my influence! She loves their quesadillas and chips. Of course she really wanted to go to Red Lobster but I don't think she understands what it really is) and then we headed next door to Coldstone Creamery and she got Blueberry Ice cream (yuck!) with M&M’s and sprinkles. We then opened a few more gifts (spoiled?? slightly!) and off to bed she went with visions of her birthday party in her head.

The next day, it was PARTY TIME!!!! She asked to have her birthday party at a place called Jump & Shout (it has climbing structures and bounce houses) about 3 months ago and hasn’t stopped talking about it ever since so that’s where we had it. She had the absolute best time ever. I barely even saw her except when we ate pizza & cake because she was running around like a complete maniac from bounce house to bounce house. I honestly don’t even think she realized her friends had arrived until we went into the room to eat and then when we went back out to play, she followed her buddies around and played with them the rest of the time.

I have included a video of her friends singing Happy Birthday to her. It is so funny to us because she was so happy until you hear the words “Happy Birthday Dear Addison” and then she goes into shy/mad mode. I think she realized once they sang her Happy Birthday that the fun was over and it was no longer her birthday. It really was a great day and she had such a great time that seeing her so happy, makes us so happy.
